Username - Your Student Number (printed on your student card)

Password -  Your date of birth and postcode  -  e.g. 01/04/2009 BB10 1AP

• Go to www.burnley.ac.uk

• Scroll right to the bottom of the screen and click on Student Portal

• Follow the on screen instructions to access you profile

• There is loads of information on this profile.

• You will access your email by clicking on the waffle on the left hand side of the screen.

• Go to wordpress.com

• Login using your college google account, you emails is studentnumber@burnley.student.ac.uk

• On the left hand side, click on 'Appearance' then click on 'Themes'

• Search for 'RetroSpect' and then click on it to activate it

• Then on the left hand menu click on 'Pages'

• At the top of the page click 'Add Page'

• Add the title 'A1: Side Scroller Platform game', then click Publish

• Then on the right hand side click on 'Add Page', call this one A1: Research and click Publish

• Now following those same steps add the following pages

          • A1: Planning

          • A1: Production

          • A1: Reflection

          • A2: Game Location Art Test Diorama

          • A2: Research

          • A2: Planning

          • A2: Production

          • A2: Reflection

• These pages are where you are going to add you work for the assignments

• Now click on the W in the top left hand corner to go back to the main menu

• On the left menu click on 'Appearance' and then 'Editor'

• On the left click on the work 'Templates'

• Then choose the 'Pages' Template

• This will bring up the Pages template page

• In the top left hand corner click on the name and sub name of the blog, I recommend calling it 'your names blog' and 'Level 3 Game Art Design Blog'

• Under that is where the menu will be, click on the side bar, then click 'edit'

• Click on the black plus button on the side bar to create a new block and search for a navigation block

• Then on the right hand side click on the black plus and add a page link

• Search for the Starting Points page and add it

• Now lets add another page link

• Search for A1: Side Scroller Platformer and add it

• Then the final page link

• Then search for A2: Game Location Art Test Diorama and add that

• Then click on the 3 dots besides A1: Side Scroller on the right hand side, click on 'Add Submenu'

• Then add the A1: Research page, 

• Then click on the 3 dots again next to A1: Side Scroller and add the sub menu A1 Planning

• Now add the other A1 pages as sub menus

• Now add all the A2 pages as submenus

• Click Save in the top right hand corner of the screen

• Now click on the W in the top right hand corner until you get back to the main menu screen

• Go to the pages screen and open the A1: Side Scroller Platformer page

• Click on the page and add a new navigation block

• The menu you have just set up should appear

• Click Save in the top left hand corner 

• Go back to the main menu (clicking on the W in the top right hand corner)

• Click on 'My Home'

• Then you need to click on the 'Publish Site' link, you may also need to verify your email

• We are all set up now, you would like to change anything else about your blog such as the pictures on the home page then remember to click on 'Appearence' and then 'Editor'
