Evaluate methods of manipulating objects, and the camera in Blender
Analyse practical methods of using the extrude and bevel tool
Assess key tools within blender and their uses (move, rotate, scale)
Face-The large regions that cover the insides of the edges, and vertices
Edges- the straight lines that frame faces
Vertices/Vertex- the points of a model, where edges connect.
The toolbar on the left shows some transformation tools that we can use to move our object, rotate it, and adjust its size.
When we select a tool, it shows what we call a Gizmo on our model. By pulling on parts of the gizmo, you can manipulate your object.
When we manipulate an object in 3D space, it is manipulated along an axis. Think about how you would have a graph in maths, it's like that.
If you click on one of the axis points, it will snap the camera to that position.
X axis- Depth
Y axis- Width
Z axis- Height
Zoom in and out- scroll wheel
Middle mouse hold-move the camera around the model
SHIFT+middle mouse hold- Pan around the screen
Object mode- We can select and transform the entire mesh
Edit mode- We can select and transform specific parts of the model (faces, edges, vertices)
<------- I have face select on in this image, so I can select the entire face
<------- I can select a face and transform specific parts like so, here is a face that has been rotated.
At the top of your screen, if you hover over 'Add'. you can put additional meshes into your scene. You aren't just limited to one model in a Blender file, and several shapes can make up a single model.
When we are in edit mode, our toolbar on the left displays more tools.
